A student continues their education. A child finds a safe and enriching place to learn after school. A family receives essential support during a difficult time. A neighborhood is brought together through art, culture, and shared public spaces.
These are the possibilities behind a transformational $2.5 million gift from Meta Platforms Inc. to the Paso del Norte Community Foundation for the 2026 El Paso Giving Day.
Provided through Meta’s The Future is for Everyone Fund, the gift will match donations dollar for dollar, up to $25,000 for participating nonprofit organizations, on a first-come, first-served basis, for $2.5 million overall. The investment will double the power of donations and will help direct more than $5 million to organizations serving the El Paso region.
“We are committed to El Paso for the long haul and believe that the communities we work in should benefit alongside us,” said Lauren Zimmerman, Meta community engagement manager. “Through the Future is for Everyone Fund, Meta is investing directly in what matters most locally, like education, sustainability, and economic vitality. We are proud to partner with the Paso del Norte Community Foundation to double our impact and support the incredible organizations making a difference here every day.”
El Paso Giving Day, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, is the region’s largest annual day of charitable giving. Founded and organized by the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, the campaign supports nonprofits working in youth and family services, education, hunger, health, mental health, animals, arts, and other areas essential to the region’s quality of life.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity for our community to come together and make every gift go twice as far,” said Tracy Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation. “Nonprofit organizations provide essential support to individuals, children, and families across our region. This leadership gift from Meta Platforms Inc. will give organizations a meaningful financial boost to help them continue making a difference where it matters most.”
Since its founding in 2016, thousands of donors have helped raise more than $13.5 million for over 260 local nonprofit organizations. In 2025, El Paso Giving Day had a record-breaking year, with nearly 11,000 donations, raising $2.3 million for local nonprofits.
Meta’s long-term commitment is rooted in the belief that communities hosting its physical infrastructure must thrive alongside it. Beyond creating jobs and tax revenue, Meta shares progress by investing directly in schools, nonprofits, public services, and vital local infrastructure. Through Meta’s $1 billion Future is for Everyone Fund, Meta delivers on its community promise by investing directly in the people and places making the AI future possible. Leadership partnerships, such as the $2.5 million matching gift for El Paso Giving Day, show this commitment in action by doubling resources for vital local nonprofits.
For many participating organizations, Giving Day is their largest, and sometimes only, major fundraising campaign of the year. Meta’s matching gift creates an exciting opportunity for these nonprofits to reach more people, expand vital programs, and build a stronger future for the entire community.

Nonprofit registration for the 2026 El Paso Giving Day is open through Sept. 30. Early Giving begins Thursday, October 8, followed by Giving Day on Thursday, October 15.
