El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – CITY OF EL PASO SALARIES – OCTOBER 2023

Posted on October 4, 2023

We filed a Freedom of Information Act request and obtained a complete list of the 6,028 employees of the City of El Paso, their titles, and their salaries.

Of these, 5,752 work full time, earning between $27,268 (Toll Collector) and $328,000 (Interim City Manager Cary Westin).

We believe that Col. Westin’s salary is correct when compared to those of city managers in comparable cities.

However, the second highest paid employee, City Attorney Karla Nieman, is paid $309,322, which seems very high to us.

357 City employees now earn over $100,000 per year, compared to 184 last year.

There are several highly-paid, underqualified bureaucrats we hope will disappear from this list by next fiscal year.

Enjoy your evening.
