EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 51-year-old man is dead after a head-on crash on Monday, Jan. 8 in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police.
Police say that at 3:13 p.m. the Special Traffic Investigators were called out to the 5000 block of Tetons to investigate a head-on crash with serious injuries.
Police released updated information on this crash on Saturday, Jan. 20.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Amador Yamil Garcia, 51, was traveling east on Tetons when, for unknown reasons, he veered left onto the westbound lanes where a 69-year-old man was traveling.
As a result, Garcia’s vehicle struck the other vehicle head-on, police said.
Police say the 69-year-old man received minor injuries and Garcia was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A day later on Tuesday, Jan. 9, investigators were notified that Garcia died from his injuries, according to police.
