EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — On Wednesday evening, Jan 24, El Pasoans will join in on the climate open house presentation. The community will be able learn about the opportunities the climate action plan can bring in the future.
When Proposition C was voted “yes” back in 2022, it meant money would be allocated for climate action planning.
The Office of Climate and Sustainability told KTSM it is their mission to build a more sustainable future for the city and its residents.
Climate and Sustainability Officer Nicole Alderete-Ferrini said Wednesday’s community engagement meeting is a continuation of the collaboration they’ve already had in the past.
Officials said they want to know what is most important to El Pasoans as they strive for as much community engagement as possible.
Alderete-Ferrini also said the whole plan is an investment into the community.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 at the Chamizal Community Center and Library.
