EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police say a 25-year-old man is dead following a shooting in East El Paso early Sunday morning, Jan. 28.
Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Pointe East Lane near Montwood High School around 5:20 a.m. Sunday morning. Upon arrival, they located 25-year-old Efrain Martinez, who was shot. Paramedics transported Martinez to the hospital, where he died.
At this time, no one is in custody in connection to Martinez’s death. EPPD says their Crimes Against Persons detectives are working on gathering additional information leading up to the deadly shooting. This is the first reported homicide of 2024.
