El Paso Matters – 5 key dates to remember for 2024 primaries and general election

Do you traditionally head to the polls on the first day of early voting? Or do you wait for Election Day? 

No matter when or how you vote, we’re here to help keep you on track.

So mark your calendars: Here are five key dates each for the March primary, May runoff and November general elections.

5 key dates for the March primary election

Monday, Feb. 5:  Last day to register to vote. Here’s where and how to register to vote.

Tuesday, Feb. 20: First day of early voting. Find early voting locations and hours HERE.

Wednesday, Feb. 23: Last day to apply for a ballot by mail (received, not postmarked). Find more information about mail-in ballots HERE.

Friday, March 1: Last day of early voting.

Tuesday, March 5: Election Day. Last day to receive a ballot by mail. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting sites will be posted HERE when available.

5 key dates for May primary runoff

Monday, April 29: Last day to register to vote

Friday, May 17: Last day to apply for ballot by mail

Monday, May 20: First day of early voting

Friday, May 24: Last day to receive ballot by mail

Tuesday, May 28: Primary runoff election

5 key dates for November general election

Monday, Oct. 7: Last day to register to vote

Monday, Oct. 21: First day of early voting

Friday, Oct. 25: Last day to apply for ballot by mail

Friday, Nov. 1: Last day of early voting

Tuesday, Nov. 5: Election Day. Last day to receive a ballot by mail.
