McALLEN, Texas (Border Report) — Truckers in line to head north from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, into Laredo, Texas, were stuck in long lines on Wednesday after Mexican customs equipment suffered an outage.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson said all of the equipment on the U.S. side of the World Trade Bridge was working as normal, but Mexico had suffered an “outage” that was affecting traffic.

As of Wednesday evening there “still was a lot of traffic” waiting to cross, the spokesperson told Border Report.
Laredo police were warning motorists to avoid the area near the bridge — the No. 1 inland port in the United States.
“Use caution and expect significant delays! If you are not a commercial motor vehicle, it is advisable to stay off the Loop and stick to the access roads,” LPD said.
