EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the fourth annual Deputy Peter John Herrera 5K Memorial Run/walk Sunday, March 24 at Ascarate Park.
The check-in will take place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m. and the race starting at 8 a.m.
Registration prices is as it follows:
Early registration: $25 per person, running from Jan. 22 to March 11.
Late registration: $35 per person, running from March 12 to March 23.
Race day registration: $40 per person at the day of the event.
Additionally, registration includes a goody bag and a race t-shirt.

Herrera was killed after being shot during a traffic stop in San Elizario back in 2019. All proceeds to benefit Herrera’s scholarship fund, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
