EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso District Attorney’s Office will be having a status hearing on Thursday, Feb. 22, in the state’s case against Patrick Crusius who was convicted of killing 23 people at the Cielo Vista Walmart in August 2019.
The hearing will allow Judge Sam Medrano to hear from both the defense and the prosecution to determine where the case stands and where it’s headed.
As we have previously reported, the state is seeking the death penalty against Crusius who was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences in prison in the federal case against him last year. Crusius pleaded guilty in the federal case.
This story will be updated once we gather more details.
