EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The El Paso Water is inviting residents to a “come-and-go” style open house which will feature information about the stormwater improvement project in West El Paso.
The open house will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Tippin Elementary School located at 6541 Bear Ridge Drive.
The utility will soon begin improvements to Arroyo 1, which is a natural arroyo that converges at the intersection of Bear Ridge Drive and Franklin Hills Street.
Improvements will help reduce flooding and protect private property by slowing the velocity of stormwater, preventing erosion and the clogging of Bear Ridge channel with silt and debris, according to the utility.
Additionally, the utility says construction will begin this spring and is expected to be completed in winter 2024.
