EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — HOME, or Housing Opportunity Management Enterprise, will be hosting a free financial education and homeownership workshop on Saturday, Feb. 24.
The event will start at 9:45 a.m. at the Sherman Plaza Apartments Community Center, 4531 Blanco Ave.
“Part of HOME’s mission is to not only provide El Pasoans with affordable housing options, but to also educate and inform its residents with insights into financial literacy and homeownership, fostering a more informed and empowered community,” according news release.
The workshop is by invitation only for qualified HOME residents.
“This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for eligible residents to enhance their financial literacy and gain valuable insights into the path to homeownership,” according to the news release.
HOME is celebrating its 86th anniversary this year after being established in 1938.
“HOME is a high performing public housing authority (PHA) that offers a hand-up to more than 52,000 El Paso residents and is the largest housing authority in Texas and 14th largest in the U.S. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for economically challenged families by providing quality affordable subsidized transitional housing and opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency.
