EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Operation Hope is spearheading an effort to provide free funerals for Borderland parents who experience stillbirths.
The nonprofit joined together with community partners — Cesar Ornelas Law and Perches Funeral Home — to start this new service.
The partners gathered together to announce the program during a news conference Monday, Feb. 26 at Perches Funeral Home.
“This is a team work effort,” said Rubi Gomez, co-founder of Operation Hope. “Operation Hope has been around in the El Paso community for many years. It is all about working together to make a difference in our community.”
The service will be available through all hospitals in El Paso and at Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces.
