EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An elementary school in East El Paso got to celebrate reading with a few special guests Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Montwood High School students and others read to students at O’Shea Keleher Whole Child Academy during a Read Across America event.

Chico the Chihuahua made a special guest appearance as did KTSM 9 News sports reporter and weekend sports anchor Sam Guzman.
The event is designed to get every child in every community to celebrate the importance of reading.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating A Nation of Diverse Readers.”
Socorro ISD administrators, staff, and employees from the El Paso Public Library, Target, and Jordan Foster Construction also participated and read to students.
