EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – El Paso Police is asking for the public’s help in providing any information that can assist in identifying the driver who fled the scene after striking and killing a 44-year-old pedestrian early Thursday morning, Feb. 29 on Spur 601 East.
Police say that around 5:41 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, officers were called out to Spur 601 East when a Border Patrol agent driving to work observed a body in the roadway.
The preliminary information is that the pedestrian, Lori Pollard, 44, was on the right side of the roadway when she was hit by an unknown vehicle, according to police.
Police say that investigators know that when the Border Patrol agent stopped to assist, a white box truck, believed to be a witness to the crash, had pulled over but left while the agent was directing traffic.
Additionally, the Special Traffic Investigations unit continues to investigate this fatal hit-and-run, according to police.
