EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A group of El Pasoans gathered Sunday morning, March 3 in Downtown El Paso to express support for the Palestinian people in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
KTSM’s crew on the scene said there were 50 to 80 people at San Jacinto Plaza and it was peaceful.
People in attendance were chanting “Cease fire now” and “Free Palestine now.”
The conflict started back on Oct. 7 when Hamas launched at attack on Israeli communities. More than 1,000 Israelis and foreign nationals were killed in the initial attack and more than 250 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage to the Gaza Strip, according to most casualty estimates.
Since then, CNN estimates that more than 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza since then
Similar protests have been held all over the country.
