KTSM News – 2 Democrats vying to succeed Leon on Commissioners Court

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two Democrats are running to succeed incumbent County Commissioner Carlos Leon in Precinct 1.

Leon is retiring after serving three terms representing East El Paso.

The Democratic candidates for Precinct 1 are: Jackie Arroyo Butler, a senior policy adviser to Leon; and Pete Faraone, a retired El Paso County Sheriff’s detention officer.

Former City Rep. Claudia Rodriguez is running unopposed in the Republican Primary, and Ryan Woodcraft, an Army veteran, is running unopposed in the Libertarian Primary.

In Precinct 3, incumbent Iliana Holguin is running against Virginia Rodriguez. No one is running in the Republican side of the primary for this seat.
