UPDATE: All lanes on Doniphan at Redd Road opened up just before 3 p.m. on Monday, March 11, according to TxDOT.
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two people are dead after a rollover crash in West El Paso Monday morning, March 11, said Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Eliot Torres.
Torres said at around 7:30 a.m., a vehicle failed to pull over regarding a violation and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit ended in a rollover crash on Doniphan Drive and Redd Road and there was a total of eight people in the vehicle.
Torres said two people died at the scene.
The El Paso Fire Department says four other people were injured and were transported to a local hospital.
Two people were transported with serious injuries, and two people were transported with minor injuries, according to the Fire Department.
TxDOT says all westbound and eastbound lanes on Doniphan Drive before Redd Road are closed.
TxDOT also says eastbound traffic is being detoured at West Green Avenue. Westbound traffic is being diverted back eastbound.
