Posted on April 9, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Borderland credit union is set to open its first New Mexico branch in Las Cruces.

GECU will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10 at 3275 Rinconada Blvd.

The credit union already serves over 34,000 members across New Mexico, according to a news release.

“Having a branch in this wonderful community is something that we have been planning for quite some time, and we’re thrilled to see it become a reality. This new neighborhood branch will not only bring essential financial services closer to our members, but also exemplify our ongoing commitment to supporting the growth and prosperity of Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GECU Alex Rascon.

The new branch is expected to open in early 2025 and will include three drive-up lanes and 24/7 ATMs, according to the news release.
