Posted on May 6, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An alleged crack cocaine dealer was arrested over the weekend after allegedly stabbing another man on a Sun Metro bus near Downtown El Paso late Saturday morning May 4, according to court documents obtained by KTSM.

Court documents say Juan Manuel Pulido, 48, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing a 32-year-old man whom he believed was “after him”.

The bus driver told police that Pulido approached him, stating that “some people on the bus were after him,” according to court documents.

The bus driver then turned around and saw the victim holding his neck and stated, “He stabbed me,” while pointing at Pulido, according to court documents.

The bus driver then hit the emergency button on the bus and called dispatch.

Court documents say officers responded at around 11 a.m. and spoke with Pulido after the incident.

Pulido told officers that he had been kidnapped and believed that the 32-year-old man was after him, according to court documents.

Pulido told officers that he sells crack cocaine for a local street gang and that the gang told him that if he didn’t work for them, they were going to hurt his family, according to court documents. Pulido also told officers that he had never seen the man before.

Law enforcement obtained surveillance footage from inside the Sun Metro bus where it showed the 32-year-old man sitting by himself.

Pulido was seen sitting in the row behind the man and they never spoke to each other, according to court documents.

Court documents say the victim’s back was facing Pulido and Pulido then got up from his seat walked towards the man and stabbed him in the neck.

Court documents say the Sun Metro bus then stopped at 1800 Oregon and officers detained Pulido.

The victim was taken to a hospital nearby where he was informed that his wound was non-life threatening as it barely missed his jugular, according to court documents.

The victim also told law enforcement that he was afraid for his life and had no idea why he got stabbed.

The victim also said that he had never seen Pulido before in his life and wanted to press charges.

Detectives also spoke with several witnesses who said that the victim was sitting alone and was not bothering anyone. They also said that Pulido got up from his seat and stabbed the victim in the neck, according to court documents.

This is the second violent incident on a Sun Metro bus in the past week.

Last week, a 43-year-old man was stabbed and killed after intervening in an argument onboard a Sun Metro bus. Police are still looking for the suspect.
