El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – INTERVIEW WITH NORMA CHAVEZ, CANDIDATE FOR TEXAS HOUSE DISTRICT 77

Norma Chavez served in the Texas House of Representatives for 14 years, from 1996 through 2011, earning a reputation for bipartisanship, serving on several key committees, and sponsoring scores of bills.

Now she is running for House District 77 and her opponent for the Democratic nomination is Vince Perez, who voted to his increase his own salary five times while serving as County Commissioner of Precinct 3 before being unseated by Iliana Holguin.

Chavez is running on a fiscally conservative platform that includes property tax reform and a series of other initiatives intended to ease the fiscal burden on El Pasoans.

We endorse Chavez as the best candidate for House District 77 and encourage everyone in her District to support her. Early voting begins Monday and Election Day is May 28.
