EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—The City of El Paso announced that Sun Metro is investing in technology that will offer riders more ways to pay for bus fares and make public transit more accessible and convenient.
All buses, including Fixed Route, Brio, and LIFT, will soon be equipped with ticket validator technology. This will allow you to use new fare payment options, including mobile wallets, QR codes, and contactless card payments. These options are designed to be user-friendly and convenient.
The new payment system will include an extensive public engagement campaign to show Sun Metro customers how to use the latest technology to pay for fares. The city added that the new system should be operational later this year.
