EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso will be hosting a graduation for residents who have completed the Neighborhood Leadership Academy.
The graduation is set to be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29. The graduating class of the academy is 40 participants.
Residents can enter the academy to have the opportunity to serve on City boards/committees, establish and register their own neighborhood associated and some residents have been elected to serve as City Council members, according to a news release sent by the City of El Paso.
The academy, according to the City, is a 20-week program that provides in-depth knowledge about City government by participants receiving information about services and programs through presentations given by City department leaders and going to on-site field trips to public facilities.
