EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) is inviting children of all ages to join their event Fish with a Cop.
The free event will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Young Park located at 1905 Nevada Ave.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will be at the event providing rods, reels and tackle to children who don’t have the equipment, according to LCPD.
Representatives from New Mexico Desert Dogs and Muddy Water Catfishing Guide Services will also be assisting with young anglers at the event.
The event will also include skills stations, foods, drinks and live music.
Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish, smallest fish and the child who caught the most fish, according to LCPD.
Parents and/or guardians are encouraged to accompany their children during the event.
