EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Ysleta Independent School District has named a new principal for Del Valle Elementary School.
Elizabeth Gonzalez, who currently serves as assistant principal at Scotsdale Elementary School, was selected as the school’s principal and will start on Monday, July 8, according to a press release sent by Ysleta ISD.
Ysleta ISD said that Gonzalez began her career in education in 2004 as a dual language teacher at Eastwood Heights Elementary School.
She later went on to serve as a bilingual teacher, instructional coach, interventionist, schoolwide project coordinator and assistant principal at various Ysleta ISD campuses.
Gonzalez earned a bachelor’s degree in bilingual education and a master’s degree in education, both from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), according to Ysleta ISD.
