EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three travel trailers and multiple vehicles were destroyed after a fire Thursday evening, May 30, on U.S. Highway 70, according to the City of Alamogordo.
The City says just before 6 p.m., the Alamogordo Fire Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Highway 70 for a travel trailer and debris on fire.
The fire was quickly put under control and a primary search of the trailers were completed. An “all-clear” was given just before 6:30 p.m., according to the City.
The Alamogordo Fire Department along with Alamogordo Code Enforcement Officers investigated the incident and concluded that the fire was “accidental in nature and no injuries were reported,” the City said.
Due to the location of the fire, mutual aid from Otero County Emergency Services was initiated. On-scene resources included engines, command staff and personnel for the Alamogordo Fire Department, Otero County Emergency services, and other resources in the area.
No surrounding buildings or neighboring buildings were damaged.
“All affected occupants were accounted for and, through partnership with the American Red Cross, provided with resources for lodging,” the City said.
