EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso ISD Education Foundation is hosting its annual scholarship awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 5, and will be awarding $81,000 in scholarships to 81 students, according to the school district.
The ceremony will be from 6 p.m. through 7 p.m. at the EPISD Professional Development Center (PDC) located at 6500 Boeing St., El Paso, Texas 79925.
The school district says the foundation is awarding $81,500 in scholarships to 81 high school students.
The school district says this year, each of El Paso ISD’s high school campuses has a scholarship recipient.
In addition to the 2024 El Paso ISD Education Foundation Scholarship, other scholarships being awarded are the Marathon Petroleum Girls in STEM Award, the Lydia Cuilty Memorial Scholarship, the Genevieve Gonzalez Scholarship, the Ann Putnam Yerby Memorial Scholarship, the Coach Lucian (Lou) Robustelli Memorial Scholarship, the Rafael Escapite Fund for Bowie High School, and the Bowie Mercado Scholarship, according to the school district.
This year’s scholarship recipients have already enrolled or been accepted at Texas-based universities such as the University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso Community College, Texas Christian University, Texas A&M, University of North Texas, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, many are leaving the state to attend Duke, Princeton, Yale, Oregon State, Loyola University in Chicago, the Colorado College of Mines Universities, Grand Canyon University, and the University of Portland, according to the school district.
