EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Good evening, Borderland.
I am filling in for Robert Bettes on this very hot Wednesday as Small Town Spotlight took place in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
In the meantime, let’s get started with our weather.
Starting Thursday, our high is expected to break records with a high of 109 degrees. In 1980 we were at 106 degrees. Our overnight low cools off to 82 degrees.
Stay hydrated, cool and indoors if possible.
The City of El Paso has activated their cooling centers, you can find locations in the article below.
Friday is another hot day with a predicted high of 107 degrees and sunny skies. Conditions are expected to remain dry and of course very hot. Evening temperatures drop to 77 degrees.
Saturday is sunny as well, no drastic changes for this day. We are forecasting a high of 106 degrees paired with an overnight low of 75 degrees.
For Father’s Day we can expect the weather to work with us on this special day. It will remain fairly hot with a high of 107 degrees. Luckily no strong winds, just another day to do your best to stay indoors, apply sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Now, we are forecasting Monday to be windy and hot. The predicted high for this day is 105 degrees. Our overnight low dips to 76 degrees. There is a chance our pollen count will spike, make sure take that allergy medication on the go.
Now, this is where we can expect things to take a huge turn.
On Tuesday, we are forecasting a high of 103 degrees, still very hot. In the evening, we have a 20 percent chance of evening storms officially kicking off monsoon season in the Borderland. A 15 percent chance of isolated showers is in for Tuesday as well, with a forecast high of 102 degrees.
For the remainder of the week, chances of storms are expected to linger and so is that humidity.
Stay hydrated El Paso. Thanks for reading!
