Border Report – Two bodies found under Paso del Norte Bridge

Posted on June 19, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, on Tuesday, pulled the remains of two persons half-buried and covered in lime under a mobile structure in a parking lot next to the Paso del Norte Bridge and the Rio Grande.

An anonymous caller alerted police to the find in a lot that was once part of the old Juarez Central Fire Station. In this iconic building, firefighters distributed toys to children on Christmas. The building has since been demolished. The bodies were under an abandoned white trailer below the southbound pedestrian lanes of the Paso del Norte Bridge.

Juarez police did not immediately say if there were signs of violence on the bodies or how long they could have been there. The parking lot is also next to a highway parallel to the Rio Grande.

The Chihuahua Medical Examiner’s Office (SEMEFO) took custody of the remains and will determine the cause of death.
