EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Comic Attic, a comic book store in Chaparral, New Mexico, will be hosting a special Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) Signature Series Event this weekend with local comic book artist Raymond Gay.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at 300 McCombs Rd., according to Comic Attic in a news release.
Raymond Gay is an El Paso-based comic book artist, known for his work for “Spawn” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” comics.
“We are beyond excited to have Raymond Gay at Comic Attic,” said Izzy Jurado, manager of
Comic Attic. “This event is going to be amazing, and we can’t wait to see all of you here. It’s a
fantastic opportunity to meet Raymond, get your books signed, and support local talent.”
Comic fans are encouraged to bring their comics, graphic novels and collections to get them signed and submitted for CGC grading, possibly enhancing the value of your collectables, Comic Attic said.
According to the CGC comics website, CGC grading is a multi-step process to verify, authenticate and grade collectibles based on various factors such as:
Verifying the authenticity of the collectable
How pristine the collectable is
How rare the collectable is
The CGC Signature Series Event will not only highlight the CGC processes of comics and signing, but also music, food, collectibles and more, Comic Attic said.
