SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection is temporarily expanding hours of operation for the SENTRI vehicle lanes at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry on weekends.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the lanes will be open from 4 a.m. until midnight.
During weekdays, hours of operation will remain from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“To enhance our service for Trusted Traveler Program members, vehicular traffic operating hours are temporarily expanding,” said Rosa E. Hernandez, Port Director for the Area Port of Otay Mesa. “This extension aims to streamline wait times during summer season while facilitating a more seamless border crossing experience for travelers utilizing the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.”
CBP says members of the traveling public can monitor border wait times on CBP’s website or by downloading the CBP Border Wait Times mobile application on smart devices.
Wait times are updated every hour.
The new hours of operation for Sentri lanes at Otay Mesa will go into effect Friday, June 28.
