Posted on July 1, 2024

With a high right at 100, today is our 22nd triple-digit day of the year. The record high on this day is 111 set in 1994. As for rain, the official rain gauge has recorded 1.52 inches. Normal is 2.40 inches so far this year.

Weather Watcher Rick Smith captured t-showers on the West Side.

TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly cloudy with scattered t-showers.  Brief, heavy rainfall will be likely with area storms.  Late evening, the skies will be partly cloudy, and the low will drop to 78.  The variable winds will range from 5-10 mph excluding possible gusts near storms.

FORECAST:   Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high of 101.  Expect isolated late day t-showers cropping up with the afternoon heat.  Brief, heavy rain will accompany some storms, and the variable winds will range from 5-10 mph. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a high of 101.  The atmosphere is very unstable, so the t-showers that develop on Wednesday afternoon cloud become quite strong with heavy rainfall.  Thursday, the Fourth of July, will be partly cloudy with only a slight chance of late day storms.  Thursday’s high: 102. Friday will be partly cloudy and 102 with potentially strong t-showers.  Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a high of 98 with widely scattered t-showers.
