Posted on July 8, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three children and a woman from El Paso were killed in a crash Sunday afternoon, July 7, in Hudspeth County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

DPS says Abigail Martinez, 28, of El Paso, a 10-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene of a crash just after 2 p.m. along I-10 West at Mile Marker 101.

A 6-year-old boy survived the crash and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to UMC.

According to DPS, Martinez was traveling westbound on I-10 when she drove off the roadway and into the center median. Martinez overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle came to rest on the north frontage road of I-10 and the investigation is ongoing.

No further information has been released.
