Weather Watcher Armando Montes sent us this picture of the El Paso Star. If you had a little trouble seeing it at times today, it is because a cold front blew in and stirred up the dust. Yesterday, the high was 105. Today’s high is 91!! Wow, what a difference. The record high on this day is 108 set in 2023. We start to heat up tomorrow with potentially strong t-showers.
TONIGHT: The skies will be mostly clear with just a few clouds. The atmosphere is very unstable, so I will put in the slightest chance of an isolated area t-shower. Because we were not very hot today, the likelihood is that we stay clear. The low will drop to 73, and the east winds will range from 10-30 mph with the strongest gusts on the west slopes of the mountains. We could continue to see a slight dusty haze until the winds die down later tonight.
FORECAST: Tuesday will be partly cloudy and hotter with a high of 98. Expect widely scattered and potentially strong t-showers with brief, heavy rain by Tuesday evening. The SE winds will range from 5-20 mph. Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with widely scattered late day t-showers. Wednesday’s high: 97. Thursday will be partly cloudy with late day t-showers and a high of 97. Friday will be mostly sunny and storm free with a high of 100. Saturday will be partly cloudy with a very slight chance of an isolated area t-storm and a high of 103.
