EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — For the next month and a half, City of El Paso officials will be going around town hosting community workshops to gather people’s input to help shape Envision El Paso, the updated 2012 comprehensive plan to address the City’s growth and future.

There will be a total of eight workshops, all held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the first of which will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at the Pavo Real Recreation Center, 9301 Alameda in the Lower Valley.

People attending the workshops will have the opportunity to learn what a comprehensive plan is and its importance, and how they can stay involved.

There will also be mapping activities to gather ideas from residents on what developments and projects they would like to see in their neighborhoods; a discussion board to define equity and for people to share their experiences living in the borderland; and activities for children to offer their vision of an ideal city.

There’s also a survey people can fill out on the Envision El Paso plan, to provide input on the City’s future and development.
