EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An aircraft made an emergency landing Wednesday morning, July 10, at the El Paso International Airport after the engine caught on fire, according to the El Paso Fire Department.
The Fire Department says the incident happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday and the aircraft had 140 passengers onboard.
The Fire Department says no injuries were reported and the aircraft was able to land safely.
The Fire Department’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting crews were able to knock down the fire.
KTSM also reached out to the El Paso International Airport and got the following response:
“This morning a chartered flight departed from the El Paso International Airport bound for McAllen. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot requested to return due to an engine issue. It landed safely. The incident did not impact other airport operations.”
