EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Fernando’s recently created Instagram page is gaining a lot of traction as he posts hints of where he has hidden cash around El Paso.
Fernando joined the KTSM 9 News morning crew on Thursday, July 11, to talk about his El Paso Cash Quest page that he decided to start after seeing a similar concept in Atlanta just a few weeks ago.
Almost daily, Fernando posts a video that hints where he has hidden cash that often goes up to $100 and sometimes includes items like coupons for local businesses or even Air Pods.
He said his goal is to help out local businesses and the people of El Paso.
“The way I do that is by businesses being able to promote themselves on my platform and give back directly to the community. And the community will help the business through my platform,” he explained.
He said he also receives donations from businesses.
When he started, Fernando explained, the cash would be found quickly, often in just three minutes, but now he has gotten better at giving more difficult hints or finding locations that are harder to find.
He plans to continue helping out the community with his platform and develop it further by adding a subscription-based program that would let subscribers get special perks like extra cash drops and prizes.
