EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso announced the final candidates for the City Manager position on Friday morning, July 12, during a press conference at City Hall.

The City says the finalists were selected by El Paso City Council. The finalists are Chief Financial Officer and Deputy City Manager for Internal Services Robert Cortinas, Deputy City Manager for Public Safety Mario D’Agostino, Community and Human Development Director Nicole Ferrini, and Deputy City Manager for Quality of Life Dionne Mack.

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, Interim City Manager Cary Westin, and Chief Human Resources Officer Mary Wiggins were all present at the press conference.

As we’ve previously reported, Tommy Gonzalez was terminated as City Manager in February 2023 after a divided El Paso City Council voted 5-4 with Mayor Oscar Leeser casting the tie-breaking vote to terminate his contract.

Westin was appointed as interim city manager in May 2023.
