EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The inclusive youth-centered music and empowerment camp, You Rock! Music Camp, dedicated to girls ages 9-17, will showcase performances from five bands at the El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival for the second year in a row.
The free and open to the public performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19 on an outdoor stage on Oregon Street in Downtown El Paso.
“The music camp, currently in progress through July 19 at the El Paso Community College – Rio Grande Campus has assembled an exciting and knowledgeable team of teachers, band coaches and volunteers,” read a news lease sent by the El Paso Community Foundation. “The team is instructing campers on playing their instruments, writing an original song and preparing them to perform live with their band. Innovative workshops are encouraging and supporting campers in their creative and personal pursuits.”
Additionally, West Texas soul pop group Estereomance, which is composed of producer Manuel Calderon (El Cosmophonico), multi-instrumentalist and singer Adria Del Valle and vocalist Paulina Reza, will perform following the You Rock! bands, according to the news release.
