EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Animal Services has announced it’s new satellite adoption center in West El Paso, the City said in a news release on Tuesday, July 16.
The Westside Adoption Center’s grand opening will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19. It is located at 5625 Confetti Dr., where former Morehead Middle School was, according to the City of El Paso in a news release. The adoption center will then open daily from noon to 6 p.m.
“We are thrilled to bring lovable shelter pets to the Westside, where more of our community will be able to conveniently find and adopt a new family member,” said Terry Kebschull, director of El Paso Animal Services. “Not only will this new location allow us to provide more opportunities for residents to adopt, but the facility also offers a quieter, more comfortable environment for our pets and customers, significantly improving the quality of care we can provide.”
To celebrate the grand opening of the new adoption center, adoption fees will be waived throughout the month of July, through the BISSELL Pets’ Empty the Shelters national adoption event, according to the City.
All adopted pets will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and registered with the City, the City said. In order to adopt, you need a valid photo ID and must be over the age of 18 years old.
The temporary adoption center in Downtown El Paso, Tails at the Times Adoption Center, will close, with roughly 100 dogs being transported to the new Westside Adoption Center.
