EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Choose your favorite sour candy and celebrate National Sour Candy Day!
It awakens the taste buds and adds a punch of energy. I actually don’t like sour candy, so Sweet Tarts is as close as it gets for me.
But I decided to go around the newsroom and take a poll of everyone’s favorite candy and I was so surprised by the results:
The majority of the newsroom agreed on Nerd Gummy Clusters.

The brief debate in the newsroom was whether these are sour enough to be considered part of today’s sour candy holiday.
A close second was Sour Punch Straws. I think the best flavors in this candy are the red and blue flavors. Not much of a fan of the other colors.

And tied for third place were War Heads, which are the true definition of sour candy, in my opinion, and Chewy Sweet Tarts.

An honorable mention goes to Spree. This one was mentioned by our own Andra Litton, who says they are fairly hard to find here in El Paso, and to be honest, I had never heard of these candies before so I will have to give them a try.
