EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will be visiting Las Cruces this week where she will host a town-hall meeting on public safety.
The town hall is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Las Cruces Convention Center located at 680 E University Ave. The public is invited to attend.
The New Mexico Legislature recently completed a one-day special session on public safety in which they did not consider any of the governor’s proposals, according to multiple New Mexico news outlets.
“Ensuring the safety and security of every New Mexican remains my top priority,” Lujan Grisham said. “The town hall in Las Cruces this Thursday is an opportunity to hear directly from New Mexicans grappling with the state’s crime problem and collaborate as a community on effective strategies to enhance public safety statewide.”
The event will be streamed live online on the Governor’s Facebook page.
Additional town-hall events focused on public safety will be taking place around the state in the near future. the governor’s office said.
