EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Beginning Monday, July 29, construction on a stormwater project will result in road closures in Downtown El Paso, according to the El Paso Water.
This is part of the Mesa Street Stormwater Main Replacement Project.
The project will improve public safety by rehabilitating existing infrastructure that helps keep stormwater off the street, according to El Paso Water.
Construction, which is expected to be completed by fall 2024, will take place on Mesa Street between Mills Ave. and Texas Ave., according to El Paso Water.

Road closures are as follows:
Mesa St. from Main St. to Texas Ave.
Mills Ave. from Oregon St. to Stanton St.
Detour routes will be set up through Main St., Texas Ave., Stanton St. and Kansas St.
El Paso Water said pedestrian and business access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
