EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Commissioners Court will be taking another step toward putting a possible general obligation bond on the ballot in November when it holds another capital planning meeting on Monday, July 29.
The Commissioners Court will hold their third capital planning workshop at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday. The workshop is tentatively scheduled to happen at about 1 p.m.
The discussion will include an overview of existing County “space needs” presented by the Public Works Department, as well as “other relevant financial, programmatic, and communications details to be discussed by county administration and the Operations Department,” according to a news release sent out by the County.
This is the third and final scheduled capital planning workshop; the first two were held earlier this month.
“These workshops follow extensive public outreach beginning earlier this year, including 24 public meetings throughout the County, approximately 20 pop-up presentations to various civic organizations and committees, and nine meetings of the citizen-led Bond Advisory Committee (BoAC),” according to the County.
Here are some important dates to keep in mind, according to the County.
o Commissioners Court can call an election on either Aug. 12 or Aug. 19.
o IF a GO bond goes to voters, it would be during the Nov. 5, election.
