We had a wonderful break from the “Misery Meter” today. The official high is only 97 thanks to the additional cloud cover. The record high on this date is 104 set in 1944.
TONIGHT: Weather Authority Alert: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert for tonight due to the potential for strong t-showers and brief, heavy rainfall that could quickly flood streets. The skies will be partly cloudy with scattered t-showers. Some individual storms may produce brief, heavy rainfall. Overnight, the t-showers will taper off as skies become mostly clear. The variable winds will range from 5-15 mph with occasional gusts, and the low will drop to 76.
FORECAST: Thursday will be much hotter with a lot more midday sunshine and a high of 104. High pressure is building up for several very hot days in a row. Isolated late day t-showers will crop up with the afternoon heat on Thursday evening. Friday will be extremely hot with a high of 106 as high pressure reaches its maximum. We’ll have only a slight chance of isolated PM storms on Friday evening. Saturday will be hot and dry with mostly sunny skies and a high of 103. Sunday will be mostly sunny, hot, and dry with a high of 102. After Sunday, the dome of high pressure begins to break down. Monday will be partly cloudy with a high of 100. Expect widely scattered t-showers Monday evening. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and 99.
