EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces Fire Department (LCFD) is inviting the community to their August public meetings on how the department can better serve the public.
The following public engagement meetings will be held:
Thursday, Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers, Las Cruces City Hall
700 N. Main St.
Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Farmers and Crafts Market
514 N. Main St.
Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library
200 E. Picacho Ave.
Additional meetings will be announced later in Aug., according to the department.
These meetings are a great way for residents and local businesses to learn more about the services provided by LCFD and say how the department can better serve its community, according to the department.
Participants who attend the meetings will be asked to provide feedback by completing this short survey.
According to LCFD, besides providing the City of Las Cruces firefighting services, the department also provides advanced life support care and specialized teams, such as Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials Response and Aircraft Rescue.
In addition, LCFD also provided ambulance services within city limits, a Mobile Integrated Healthcare program and a LIGHT crisis intervention team.
The department has rapid responded to over 23,000 calls each year, according to LCFD.
