EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – As IDEA Public Schools in El Paso welcomes over 6,000 students for the new school year, it also introduces its first Senior class at IDEA Edgemere College Preparatory and IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory.
According to IDEA El Paso, IDEA Edgemere College Preparatory and IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory are welcoming their first 12th-grade students.
The Edgemere campus celebrated the Senior class by hosting a parade and having students walk down the halls holding their future colleges.
“We are excited to welcome our first class of seniors at two of our schools,” says Frankie Gray, executive director of IDEA El Paso. “We’re just one step away in having these bright scholars fulfill our mission of providing every student the opportunity to go to and through college.”
The graduating class of 2025 at IDEA El Paso has achieved significant milestones, completing over 11 AP and career tech courses and visiting more than 15 colleges and universities.
“I was with these students from the beginning as their 6th grade ELA teacher when they first entered our school as our founding college prep scholars,” said Alejandra Najera, principal of IDEA Edgemere College Preparatory. “Now, as their principal and for many other staff members, this is an extraordinary moment for us. It’s fulfilling to see how much they’ve grown and to finally see them walk at the end of the school year.”
