EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – In response to the recent fires and flooding in Ruidoso, New Mexico, El Paso residents and organizations came together to assist their neighbors in need.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, members of the El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) and the El Paso Firefighters Association Local 51 delivered donations from the community, ranging from essential supplies to clothing and construction materials, directly to Ruidoso, according to a news release sent by EPFD.
“The response from our community has been incredible. The generosity of El Pasoans never ceases to amaze me. We are proud to be able to support our neighbors in Ruidoso during this difficult time,” Fire Chief Jonathan Killings said.
“This is what being part of a community is all about, coming together to help one another in times of need. The donations we’ve received will go a long way in providing relief to those affected by the fires and flooding in Ruidoso,” said Jay Nicholson, president of the El Paso Firefighters Association Local 51.
“The El Paso Fire Department and the El Paso Firefighters Association Local 51 extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this relief effort,” read the news release.
