EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A hiker died Thursday, Aug. 15 at McKelligon Canyon in Northeast El Paso, the El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) confirmed via its X account.
At 1:21 p.m., EPFD said Combined Search and Rescue crews were responding at 1400 McKelligon Canyon to reports of a hiker requesting assistance.
A fatality was confirmed an hour later, and the scene was turned over to law enforcement, according to EPFD.
