EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Visit El Paso won two awards for tourism marketing and web design given out by the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (TACVB).
The honors were given out during the annual TACVB conference held Aug. 21 in Austin.
According to the news release by Visit El Paso, the “Destination Marketing Organization of the Year” award recognized the destination marketing organization’s commitment to driving tourism and growing economy through “provided convention, tourism, venue and event management services to visitors, clients and the greater El Paso community to contribute to a significant increase in tourism and economic impact for the city.”
“Receiving these awards is an outstanding honor and serve to recognize the effort, dedication and passion of our team. We are honored to represent El Paso on a statewide, national and international level and to be recognized for our efforts by the TACVB,” said President and CEO of Destination El Paso Jose Garcia.
Visit El Paso’s website, VisitElPaso.com, was also awarded the “Best Website Design and Effectiveness” after undergoing a major redesign in partnership with a local website development agency Hello Amigo, according to Visit El Paso.
The website features a user-friendly interface, improved programming, engaging content and effective design that makes the website and information more accessible to visitors to experience El Paso.
The TACVB is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes convention and tourism industry in Texas by providing education opportunities, networking and resources to its members, according to the news release.
