EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A body was recovered from a Lower Valley canal on Monday evening, Aug. 26, the El Paso Fire Department said.
El Paso Fire’s Water Rescue Team initially deployed to the area along Southside Road near the Bustamante Wastewater Plant concerning reports of a person in the water.
The potential rescue mission turned into a body recovery, the Fire Department said.
The scene and body have been turned over to law enforcement for further investigation.
El Paso Police confirm that they were called out to the scene and their Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating.
